Job Description:
Our client a leading company based in the south of Ireland is recruiting for an Oracle DBA. As well as extensive technical expertise the candidate will also be required to work to project deadlines while strictly adhering to requirements for the installation, test and on-going maintenance of IT & Automation Systems. The candidate will be required to lead projects and on-going initiatives in the areas of IT Database Administration.
This role will involve international travel to company sites in Europe and the USA.
Skills Required:
- Demonstrated understanding of Oracle & SQL Server database management systems.
- Demonstrated experience implementing IT systems in a Manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Experience of administrating database systems in both windows & Unix based environments.
- Knowledge and experience of high availability solutions such as Oracle Real Application Clusters and SQL Server Failover Clusters.
- Experience of disaster recovery solutions such as Dataguard & SQL Server mirroring.
- Multi-disciplined DBMS knowledge including at least: Oracle 8i,9i & 10g and SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008
- Proven experience of maintaining 24/7 environments.
- Produce and maintain database installation qualification documentation and database operational procedures.
Qualifications :
- Degree in Computing and/or related discipline essential.
- IT Certification desirable e.g Oracle 10g OCP
Experience :
- At least 8 years experience in a similar role, managing multiple database systems in a dynamic and tightly controlled environment.
- Demonstratable experience in taking responsibility for technical projects.
- Excellent documentation skills.
