Philomena Dunne, CEO, Sunshine Home said of the donation, “This is fantastic for the children as many can’t use public transport due to all their medical equipment. We organise many social trips to the zoo, beach, and parks throughout the year so suitable transport is vital. The new people carrier will augment our minibus as a versatile and user friendly way to get around.” She added, “While we cannot change a child's diagnosis we can change the quality of a child's life and in turn help their families. We try to alleviate some of the pain and suffering for Irish families, our home is not a sad place, it is a place for living and putting life into a child’s day.” Regional Director, Ann O’Mahony from Premier Group’s recently opened Sandyford office explained, “Our recruitment consultants suggested donating this money to the Children’s Sunshine Home in lieu of gifts to our clients. Many were aware of plans for the opening of Ireland’s first Children’s Hospice in partnership with the Children’s Sunshine Home and as a result we decided to support this deserving cause.” The Children's Sunshine Home provides home-support, respite and residential services, to children and families of children, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions such as cerebral palsy, profound brain damage, meningitis, tumours and cancers.
